When you visit our website, we collect the following information through Google Analytics:
Important: We do NOT require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use our website or download MarkViewer.
The app sends two kinds of data to PostHog, our analytics provider. They are separate and you control each in Settings > Privacy & Analytics.
These tell us which app versions have problems. They carry no identifier: each report gets a new random ID, nothing is stored on your device to recognize it later, and no profile is created. Reports cannot be linked to each other or to your Mac. You can turn them off in Settings at any time.

When you first launch the app, the setup screen asks whether to share anonymous usage data; the box starts unchecked. If you used MarkViewer before version 1.8.14, the app asks you once. Until you say yes, no usage data is collected. You can change this setting anytime in the app's Settings.
If you opt in, we also collect the following through PostHog:

Google Analytics data is retained for 26 months (Google's standard retention period). After this period, the data is automatically deleted.
Usage analytics are retained until you request deletion. Anonymous error reports cannot be tied to you, so they cannot be looked up or deleted per user. You have full control:

MarkViewer is developed and maintained by a developer based in South Korea. However, the analytics services we use (PostHog and Google Analytics) may transfer data to the United States.
